Did someone say Church?

Yes the title of the blog is correct. The Primo's went to church today. We went to church because my mom asked us to (I know sad). She was the deacon of the month, and when your the deacon of the month you have to pick who the users are for the last Sunday of the month. My mom thought it was be nice for us and my parents to be the users.

We all passed out programs before the service and when it was time for the offering to get collected we went pew by pew with the plates collecting the money. Usually during the service I feel like I am going to fall asleep but not today, it was a good sermon.

At the end of the service we also had clean up duty. Which basically all we do is straighten out the bibles and hymnals that are in each pew and collect the "sign-in" sheets.

While driving home Thiago asked me why I didn't like our current minister. I told him because I find him very mono-toned and not interesting. He said to me "people shouldn't base going to church from their minster or father but they should go because of God." After I thought about it, it totally made sense and kind of gave me a better out look on attending church.

Then later today my mom told me that in the next 3-5 years we will most likely be getting a new minister. She also told me other things like, he calms he focuses on elderly people in our church but yet he has not been to any nursing homes or their houses to see them. That just pisses me off. If God is in your life and you preach about him why can't you keep your word?

It's game night

Tonight was game night at Melha. It's been a while since I have been to a game night so I was very excited. My friend Laura came with me. I was so excited to hang out with her. She was one of my really close friends in high school. We played volleyball and lacrosse together.

They had a great turn out. We got there during the social hour and the parking lot was full. So we ended up parking down the street. The shrine center was probably packed to the maximum people which was awesome. There were like 600 people there. The 50/50 raffle winner own about $1800.

It was so much fun. I ate deer, elk, bear, pheasant, chicken & roast beef.

Another snow storm

Some may say this is another Nor-estern...

Last night the snow started to fall last night around 5pm. The news forecast last night said we could get 4 - 8 inches between Wednesday and Friday.

I really didn't think we were going to get even close to that since we have had our fair share of snow, not that that really means anything and the snow could careless and still come. I woke up this morning to plows on the street, so I knew we got a some what a lot of snow.

According to WWLP.com we got 4.5 inches and Monson got 13 inches. Insane about of snow everywhere.

Crock Pot Challenge - Beef Stroganoff

This recipe I got off of frenchs.com. I did omit a ingredient, maybe if it was added it would be less watery.

Crunchy Onion Slow Crooker Beef Stroganoff

3 lbs. beef chuck stew meat (1 1/2 inch cubes)
2 (10.75 oz each) cans Campbell's Mushroom Soup
1 (8oz) pkg. sliced mushrooms
2 cups French's French Fried Onions (omitted)
1/3 cup French's Extra Tenderizing Worcestershire Sauce (I used plain Worcestershire Sauce)
3/4 cup water

Directions:
Season the meat with salt and pepper to taste (omitted). Brown meat in 2 tbsp. hot oil in a large skillet. Transfer to 5 qt slow cooker.

Stir soup, mushrooms, 1 cup French's French Fried Onions, Worcestershire Sauce and water into slow cooker.

Cover cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours. serve over noodles (we used rice) and sprinkle with remaining onions. If desired, server with a dollop of sour cream.

It was good. I would make it again and hopefully it will come over better then.

Another bizarre TV show

Extreme Couponing is a bizarre show. Its on TLC Wednesday at 8pm. I really have no words on how to explain the show. The name says so much about it and it's a show you need to experience yourself.

All I have to say is these people have nothing better to do with their time but it remarkable how much they can save with coupons. They also have done a lot of "prep" work before they head to the stores.

With that said, you should watch it or see the little clips that Hulu.com has.

INSANE...

My new favorite show

Beyond Scared Straight premiered last night on A&E.

It was a very intense show. After watching it I had the feeling I knew what it would been like if I was in jail. I have heard people say in jail people have a better life than out in the real work ie. for homeless people. Just watching the very first episode of this show I get the feeling jail would never be a place you would ever want to go, even to be better off than your currently situation.

Hearing the 7 girl's situations who went to experience jail kind of hit home a little bit. I have a couple cousin's who have gone down the same paths as them. Once the girls were in jail they totally had no control of anything and inmates controlled everything they did and yelled a lot.

I really felt for the one girl who saw her mother in the same jail. Seeing her mom in jail and knowing she had experienced the same things the inmates said/did to her was totally an eye opener for her.

Other than seeing the inmates yard, you saw their cells, the bathroom situation and the max security area. After the tour the girls met inmates who got themselves in jail by acting the same why they are currently acting.

At the end of the show you get a update on how the girls are currently after they experienced the jail in CA. Most changed for the better and a some changed for the worst and are currently in juvie.

By the end of the show I didn't want it to end. Can't wait for next week.

Nor'easter 2011

SNOW SNOW EVERYWHERE!!!

The news said we would get up to 18 inches. Last time checked we got 15 inches, this is when checked around 6pm.

The snow looked so pretty inside. Streets were covered and hard to drive down if not plowed, as seen right outside our window. Some people seem to amaze me in thinking they can do whatever they want without consequences.

Thiago and I had in the snow at night while shoveling. I made a snow angle and we had a little snow ball fight.. well tried to have on. This snow wasn't the best for making snow balls. When you threw the snow it would just go everywhere so we found taking the shovel and throwing the snow that way worked better.

Took this picture at 7:30am, about 8 inches on the cars

You can barely see Thiago's car

Snow on the trees

14 inches on snow so far

Adults acting like kids?!

Tonight we went to Burlington Mass to Chuck E. Cheese. It was Julia's birthday party. Thiago's cousin Marcio's daughter. They live in Brazil but his in mother in law lives in New Hampshire.

On the drive there was a bunch of car accidents. There was a ton of traffic and there was even a car on fire, luckily this was on the other side of the road. I hope there was no one in the car that was burning and no one was seriously hurt in the other car accidents we saw.

When we got to Chuck E. Cheese, we saw Thiago's relatives and played a lot of arcade games as well. The kids seems to have a lot of fun and of course the adults did too :) We are never to big to have fun.

We got to see the band play and even Chuck E. Cheese came out to say hello and helped celebrate Julia's birthday.

With our winnings of about 645 tickets we treated Julia to whatever prizes she wanted. She got a hat and a purple bracelet.

It was nice to see more of Thiago's family, we don't get to see family on his side a often so when we have a chance to see them we take it for granted.

The ride home was much better, no accidents or anything.

Crock Pot Challenge - Mac & Cheese

I made delicious Mac and Cheese in the crock pot. I would suggest it to anyone but I did add somethings to it..

3 cups cooked macaroni (I added 4 cups)
1 tbs. butter
2 cups evaporated milk (I added 3 cups)
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped (Didn't add)
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt (Didn't add)
1/4 tsp. pepper (Didn't add)
non-stick cooking spray
*I also added 6 strips of cooked bacon cut up

In a large bowl, toss the macaroni with the butter and then add the remaining ingredients. Add the mixture to a lightly greased Crock Pot. Cover; cook on high for 2 to 3 hours, stirring once during cooking.

I forgot to stir so it was a little burnt on the sides and bottom but luckily Thiago likes that :)

It was so yummy... can't wait to make it again :)

Date Night

Tonight turned into date night. We try to go out at least once a week, which is usually on the weekends out to breakfast or something but tonight we decided to use one of our Christmas gifts and go to the movies. Thanks Mom & Dad.

We went and saw Little Fockers. It was a great movie. We laughed just about the whole time. But I do agree with Thiago the first one was the best. Don't get me wrong they are all really good, its just usually the first movie is always the best.. that's my two cents. It is worth seeing it in theaters or waiting until it comes out.. whatever floats your boat.

It was nice, we both go pretty dressed up to go to the movies, nice casual clothes (since we don't usually do it often) and just enjoyed our own company.

I told Thiago I feel like we are on one of our first dates when we just started dating in 2005.

He is the best husband, friend and my support I could ever ask for. Eu Te Amo.
